Our goal is to ease these problems by using the phenomena of photosynthesis, a biological activity that is necessary for life on Earth and has been occurring in chlorophyll bacteria for thousands of millions of years. Because photosynthesis converts inorganic chemicals into organic matter using light energy, our goal is to obtain items of interest to a wide variety of socio-economic sectors from this biomass, as well as novel biofuels that will improve our daily lives. We expect that such innovative products will be able to reverse the unsustainable pattern of development linked to resource depletion and environmental impact that global society has decided to accept, particularly since the Industrial Revolution of the nineteenth century.
